The property began its colourful history in 1884 as The Eastern. The Oriental was added in 1885 due to the EasternÂs overwhelming popularity and the hotels combined to become the Eastern & Oriental Hotel.

FarquharÂs Bar  Pours an excellent range of beers and serves great pub fare with a slice of colonial Malaya.
Verandah  The terrace on the promenade, offering al-fresco dining.
The Deck  Encompassing the pool, it serves light meals and refreshments.

The E&O is but a minutes walk from the myriad of shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs. And beyond the city, hills and villages, seas and beaches beckon enticingly.
